Don't you guys just love robots? We really do! Well, if we didn't, I doubt we would come everyday... Putting analysis of the reasons of why we do what we do aside, our meeting was kicked off with a quick board session.
The field was drawn on the board and explained to the team a second time, but this time, we had colors!! The discussion/explanation was effective and getting the basic rules and configuration oddf the field into the heads of all of the students and mentors. With this information fresh into our minds the group headed out to our field and role played for a bit.
Continue rollers prototype. Two different types. One with one roller that's slightly tilted upwards one with an upside-down "V." The V shaped roller design is having a large amount of difficulty getting both of the rollers to spin and not interfere with each other.
Inventor people are creating multiple different things. There is one person working on the bumper plywood blocks. Another person working on the bill of materials and trying to update the weight some more. Our current weight is now 75 to 78 pounds. We've got fifty pounds to go, and I have a feeling "we aren't going to have to worry about weight this season." - Coach
Our programing gurus began working on using the ultrasonic sensors.
Dr. Wallace, our old mentor came to visit us for the first time this season! We showed him our punching mechanism and how we are going to release it. He's giving us some nice tips on how to improve it. He was also shown the righting mechanism and the look on his face was good enough for us to know that he liked it!
"The rollers were really good at centering the ball! I think we're gonna be able to punch the ball really well!" -Ryland Forsythe, a rookie member this year.
